Established in 1916, the Colleen Pencil Co., once a major pencil manufacturer in the Japanese pencil industry,  sharpened its last graphite in 1997. 

These 3030 vintage pencils date to the late 80s/early 90s, are unsharpened, and still write as though they were manufactured yesterday.  The khaki-colored barrel has beautiful imprinting on three of its six sides including one with kanji characters for a unique cultural touch. Of interest, most Japanese pencils incorporate a comfortable rounded hexagonal shape paying homage to the iconic Japanese cherry blossom, or sakura.
